Personal Evidence of my Trichotillomania

This is me. It's somewhat hard to tell the damage, because I'm wearing eyeliner, but you can see the big bald patch on my lower lid where there's no eyelashes. And you can see how sparse they are, not full like they should be.

So surprised you don't have any comments. I aplaud your honesty. my Trich is worse than yours with regards to eyelashes... I pull them all out and don't have the guts to post them. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see someone with the same problem as me.

I feel like acceptance is an incredibly important step. It's admirable that you can put yourself out there like that. Whenever I feel embarrassed about picking my eyebrows, I pick my eyebrows. It's a nasty cycle. I managed to stop for a while, but all this high school business makes it really difficult. I actually didn't know anything about Trichotillomania until I got really depressed about my habit last night and looked it up. I couldn't believe that so many people had similar problems, and that there was even a name for it. I cried as soon as I understood all of this. This could just be momentary, but since I browsed all the forums and pages that I could find about Trich, I haven't picked once. Haha.. I hope it lasts for a while. Anyway, I really wanted to thank you and all the people like you who have presented yourselves with such honesty and clarity that I suddenly don't feel so alone and powerless. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm going to try really hard, and I hope it works out for the both of us.

Hey just found this I see I'm not the only one who has a eyelash pulling problem. I've pulled out all of mine though.. I'm kinda relieved that there's someone else like me good luck on trying to stop I've just started my own reverse type therapy so that they're back for prom.

Its been a bothersome habit of mine for forever. Since I was 6 or 7 and I attribute that to the beatings. I favor my left eye, upper lid mid section. Ive gotten better with it over time, but its still there, haunting me.. calling me... Sux
