Topical Advice

I've had a bit of a setback lately, and I have a pretty sizable bald spot on my left eyelid. That part of my eyelid is sort of itchy and raw, and that eye gets irritated easily lately since there's fewer eyelashes to protect it from bacteria and dirt.

So I'm seeking topical advice. What topical medications have you used on your eyelids or in your eyes to soothe the irritation that follows a pulling spree? I've tried Vaseline, and it feels nice while I rub it on the eyelid, but the relief doesn't seem to last very long. And my eye itself is still dry and irritated.

So what have you used that you have found to work? Eye drops? Ointments? Other methods of relief? There's nothing we can do to make the eyelashes grow back faster, but I'm hoping I can find something to at least ameliorate some of the negative aftereffects.

I have stopped pulling (pull free two years) and I feel confident that if you are willing to change, basically everything, you can too! Please read my letter to you all, I hope it helps. http://www.bewellnsb.com/Letter%20to%20Trichsters.pdf

Cortisone cream does the trich! :) I like that you like puns. The cream is soothing; try to not use obsessively because it can eventually thin skin.

Arnica maybe? You can buy it at the drugstore. It is very soothing for bruises and insect bites and promotes healing. You'd have to check if it is safe for eyes, but it's a natural remedy so it probably is.

I used a mixture of natural oils including jojoba, rosemary and olive oils. I have been pull free for several years after 40 (!) years of pulling. I put together a Trich Stop Kit to help Trichsters approach the condition from many different angles; visualisation, auto-hypnosis, diet, journal writing and special mixtures to sooth follicles and promote growth. Attacking it from all sides is what made me successful. That was what helped me stop pulling eyelashes. The good news is that it IS POSSIBLE. I pull my eyelashes and eyebrows and actually, I have stumbled on a way to make them grow faster. At least it seems to work for me to recover faster from a balding episode. I take my fingernail and scratch the surface of the eyelid where the hair normally grows to stimulate growth and encourage hairs to peek above the surface of the skin, I usually make several passes in both directions, not painfully hard and sometimes I pull gently with the opposite hand to tighten the skin of my eyelid a bit but hard enough to feel a slight stinging. I really truly notice faster growth than when I don't do this. But to answer your other question I have never used any ointments.

Do I have a good trich (:-)) for you! I found this great all natural oil on line called Trich Stop Oil and have been using it for the last few months and have been pull free and really happy with it. It has soothed that itchy feeling and it helps me to rub it in instead of plucking out my eyelashes. you can find it online or on Amazon. Good luck. Hopefully you'll be seeing your eyelashes grow in like mine sooooon!!
